Absolutely not! Some of our best players started learning the game late.
A GIRLS lacrosse stick, a colored mouth guard, protective lacrosse eye gear are all a must. We recommend cleats or turf shoes, but your daughter can wear sneakers. Absolutely no jewerly (to include friendship bracelets). If you are planning on getting your daughter's ears pierced, please know that she will be required to remove her earrings at games and practices.
No. Our season is extremely short. Although we realize many girls have a variety of activities each season, we sincerely hope she will make lacrosse her priority during our limited season and attend practices and games.
Quix Stix is a developmental league. With the exception of the Blazers and the All Stars teams, we do not separate our teams into different levels. We strive to create balanced and equal teams in terms of strength and grade level through a "blind draft." The coaches receive their team assignments at the pre-season coaches meeting and will contact their team sometime in March.
The Quix Stix Board introduced this change after evaluating our game performances over the past few years and reviewing feedback from the surrounding township leagues and our Quix Stix parents. The number of teams in our area that have level set their programs has increased and participation in summer club programs and off season clinics beginning at the 7th grade level has increased as well. Additionally, Quix Stix has experienced practice and game commitment issues. We will require a serious commitment to the season for the Blazers teams.
Yes, all players interested in playing for any level of the Blazers must register as a player during our regular registration period in October before tryouts. The 7th and 8th grade players interested in playing on a Blazer team will attend a tryout to determine placement.
No. The girl's may end up on the same team due to the blind draft, but we do not take requests for teams. We have found that the girls will know someone on their team or meet new friends and since we are all located in T/E, carpooling hasn't been an issue in the past.
No. It may happen due to the blind draft, but we do not take requests. The girls will become better players learning from a wide variety of coaches.
Please see the tab "Our Program" for detailed information on each grade level. The 1/2nd grade group will practice Tuesdays. The 3rd/4th grade group will practice twice a week (one practice will be Monday night) with games primarily on Saturday, some on Sunday. The 5th/6th grade group will practice twice a week with games on both Saturday and Sunday. The 7th/8th grade group practices once per week (usually a Sunday afternoon) and has a game on Saturday (there may be one or two games on Sunday). There will be at least two practices per week for the 7/8 Blazers teams. The 3rd/4th grade group plays predominantly in-house games whereas the 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade groups will play in-house as well as teams from other leagues. 7/8 Blazers play teams from other leagues and in tournaments. Detailed schedules for the spring season will be posted on this site once finalized in the spring.

We are thrilled that your daughter wishes to continue playing lacrosse through the summer, however we do not recommend any one Club team over another nor are we associated with any club team. Each player is unique and it is up to you to find the best fit for your daughter and your own schedules. There are numerous Club teams available to different levels of players. A list of the various girls lacrosse clubs can be found at www.palacrosse.com .
Thank you! Our league is run 100% by volunteers. Lacrosse experience is not necessary in all positions! We are in constant need of dedicated folks willing to help with equipment, field lining, merchandise, Quix Stix Day, etc. We are also always adding new coaches to our coaching staff. If interested in helping, please contact pioneerquixstix@gmail.com .
